Overview
Bajra seeds, also known as pearl millet, are tiny nutritional wonders packed with a surprisingly high amount of protein, fiber, and essential minerals.
Planting:
Sowing Season:
Sow bajra seeds in the late spring or early summer, after the danger of frost has passed.
Sunlight: Bajra prefers a sunny location with well-drained soil.
Spacing: Sow seeds 1-2 inches deep and about 6 inches apart.
Growing:
Watering: Water regularly, especially during germination and hot weather.
Weed Control: Keep weeds under control to prevent competition for nutrients and moisture.
Harvesting: Bajra matures in about 60-70 days, indicated by the heads turning brown and the seeds becoming hard. Harvest by cutting the stalks just below the heads and threshing the seeds.
